A couple of years ago I helped design a kitchen for a couple in Sanford, Maine. My work included space planning, elevations, 3D perspectives and a rendering. This summer their dream kitchen was completed and they are thrilled with the final outcome.

Painter, jewelry designer, and an artist in every way, Leah Piepgras creates ethereal and provocative pieces of work in countless mediums. Her latest endeavor is “Consumption, a five-piece place setting used during the mental, physical, and spiritual act of consuming.” Leah describes the dishes as “a map of the digestive tract from mouth to anus. They are a reminder of the processes that are taking place within you while you are eating, promoting an exercise in mindfulness. ” These dishes are being produced in a limited addition by Pickard China in Illinois. They are currently available on her web site (www.leahpiepgras.com) for pre-order.

One of my favorite parts in the Interior Design process is drawing the renderings. After working with the client and learning their style and what they gravitate to, I come up with a variety of options of materials, colors, and layouts for them to pick from. The renderings really help the client understand their space. Together we narrow down the different options and I do a final rendering for them. The renderings have also helped the contractors see the space in perspective and they seem to like to refer to it along with their construction documents. Below is a rendering for a kitchen renovation that I am working on in Sanford, Maine.
